FAQ
This page answers the questions that come up most often while working in Button Design Studio: Sports Pro.
Getting Started
What is the fastest way to build a new design?
Start with Background Image, then move through Top Text, Bottom Text, Players Name, and Jersey Number. After that, add or import your roster, click a player row to preview it, choose a button size on the right, and click Finalize Design.
What does Feature Finder do?
Feature Finder is a shortcut panel. Use it to jump straight to the most-used controls instead of cycling through every panel with Advance to Next Panel.
Do my settings stay saved after I close the page?
Some settings can stay saved in your browser on the same computer, such as saved hex colors, the selected button size, name case preference, and saved setups. If you clear browser site data, those saved items can be removed.
Can I save a design setup and reuse it later?
Yes. The studio includes saved setup controls so you can save the current design settings, reload them later, or replace an older setup with a newer version.
Images
How do I make the background image larger or smaller?
Open Background Image and use Image Size. If the image still feels too tall, too wide, or too cropped, use Stretch Left/Right and Stretch Top/Bottom for finer control.
Can I move the image without changing the text?
Yes. Use the Left/Right and Up/Down sliders in Background Image, drag the design in the preview, or use the arrow keys to nudge the image. Hold Shift for larger moves.
What is the Border for?
The Border adds an inner edge around the design to create separation and emphasis. It can help make photos or team artwork feel more finished.
Can I add more than one image at a time?
No. The studio uses one background image at a time. If you want a design that combines multiple images, merge them into a single image first, then import that finished file.
Can a background color be added to the image I upload?
Yes. If you upload a transparent PNG, the Background Color section appears so you can place a color behind the transparent areas, reuse saved swatches, adjust opacity, and add a radial gradient.
What are saved hex colors for?
Saved hex colors let you keep favorite team colors close by. Once saved, you can reuse the same color again without typing the hex code every time for text, background colors, and the border.
Text and Fonts
Can I use straight text instead of curved text?
Yes. In Top Text or Bottom Text, switch between Curved Text and Straight Text. Players Name and Jersey Number stay as straight text fields.
How do I make text easier to read on a busy background?
Turn on the text outline, increase the outline amount, and use a high-contrast color pairing. You can also reposition the image or move the text to a cleaner area of the design.
Why does the tagline section only show three color choices?
The Tagline Controls section now keeps its Color and Outline choices simple on purpose. It shows black, white, and middle gray so the back-curl text stays clean and easy to read.
Can I add my own fonts?
Yes. Use the Fonts area to upload supported font files such as TTF, OTF, WOFF, or WOFF2. After the font loads, it becomes available in the text font menus.
Can I drag text directly on the preview?
Yes. You can drag players name and jersey number directly on the preview. Clicking text on the preview can also open the matching control panel.
Roster
Can I type players in by hand instead of using a CSV file?
Yes. Use the roster panel to enter a player name, jersey number, and quantity manually, then add the row to the list.
Does the jersey number field have to contain a number?
No. You can enter text such as Coach or Biggest Fan instead of a number when that better fits the button design. If you do not need jersey numbers for a set of buttons, simply leave that field empty.
What does quantity mean?
Quantity is how many copies of that player design the app should place into the exported PDF sheet.
Can I save the roster after I build it?
Yes. Use Download Roster CSV to export the current roster so you can reload or reuse it later.
What columns can my CSV file use?
The app accepts a single name column or separate first and last name columns, plus number and optional quantity. Common headers include name, first, last, number, jersey, qty, and quantity.
Export
How do I know how many buttons fit on a page?
Choose a button size in the right panel and review the layout preview. The page updates to show the matching sheet layout for that size.
Why should I preview a player before exporting?
Previewing helps confirm that text placement, image position, and color choices look correct before the PDF is built for the whole roster.
What file does Finalize Design create?
Finalize Design creates a PDF layout based on the selected button size and the roster quantities. The file is ready for printing from a PDF viewer.
Where should I go if something is not working correctly?
Open the Troubleshooting Guide from the main screen. It walks through common browser, image, roster, and export problems step by step.
